• Andrew Pjesky, a resident of Halstead community for 75 of his 79 years, died at Green meadows Nursing Home there on Nov. 17, the day before his 79th birthday. He was born in Russia and came to Halstead in 1894. He was formerly custodian of the Halstead post office. The funeral was conducted Wednesday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church with Rev. Melvin Schmidt, the pastor, officiating. Survivors include his widow, the former Susie O. Dester, four brothers and three sisters. | |||
