'''Sprunger.''' — On Christmas night in Berne, Ind., David Sprunger, aged 80 years, 5 months and 20 days. He was born in Canton Bern, Switzerland, and came with his parents, brothers and sisters to Wayne county, Ohio, in the spring of 1852. On January 1857 he was united in matrimony with Barbara Lehman of that place, and moved to Adams county, Indiana. This union was blessed with 11 children. His wife preceded him in death on August 3, 1874. David Sprunger remarried, on Aug. 3, 1876, his bride being Regina Moser. This union was blessed with 8 children. Also his second wife and four children preceded the deceased husband and father. He was the last member of a large family, 15 children, 70 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren are his near relatives who survive him. Brother Sprunger was a cheerful and faithful member of the Mennonite church. He greatly enjoyed the program on Christmas morning and shortly before midnight, after severe suffering, he passed away in peace to meet his Redeemer. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. S. F. Sprunger in the German and Rev. P. R. Schroeder in the English language. | |||
