&bull; Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at the Alexanderwohl Church near Goessel for Peter B. Schmidt, 69, of Route 1, Canton.  Rev. Aaron Epp, the pastor, officiated.  Mr. Schmidt died Friday at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel after being a patient there for about three weeks.  He was a native of the Goessel community and farmed near Canton for many years.  He leaves his wife, the former Susie Goertz, three sons, two daughters, 17 grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.  A son, John H., and a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Enz, reside in Newton.
