Word has been received announcing the death of Mrs. Christine Hirschler, of Upland, Calif., on March 19th.  She was the mother of Dean D. A. Hirschler of the music department of the College of Emporia.  She was the wife of the late Rev. J. S. Hirschler, formerly of Hillsboro, who was a brother of Mrs. H. G. Ruth, Halstead.  Rev. and Mrs. Hirschler were among the early pioneers in this section of the country.
