PAUL C. STUCKY

Paul C. Stucky, 27, a sixth-grade instructor at Phinney School in Larned, Kan. until illness forced his retirement the first of the year, died Oct. 22 at St. Jospeh Memorial Hospital, Larned.

born Jan. 12, 1944, at Kingman, Kan., he grew up in the pretty Prairie community and graduated from Pretty Prairie High School in 1962. He came to Larned after graduating from Sterling college in 1966.

From 1967 to 1970 Mr. Stucky with the help of his family built scores of wooden tractors and pull toys. he gave them to the Big Brothers Club in Hutchinson for distribution to needy children at Christmastime. Despite his illness, he also stared on a dozen tractors for distribution this yule season.

He was received as a member of the First Mennonite Church of Pretty Prairie upon his confession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in June 1960 by Rev. Elmer R. Friesen.

He married Joycelyn M. Entz Ewy on May 28, 1967 at Pawnee Rock, Kan.

Survivors include his widow, a son, Samuel J.; a daughter, Lena Jean; his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Herman L. Stucky and a grandmother, Mrs. Sam J. Stucky, all of Pretty Prairie; mother-in-law, Mrs. Hilda Entz of Hydro, Okla.; and a brother, Allen, who is serving with the Naval Reserve in the Far East.

A memorial service was held at the Bergthal Mennonite Church north of Pawnee Rock Monday evening, Oct. 22, with Rev. Gerhard Peters officiating.
