Mrs. Edith Amstutz, daughter of Edwin and Minnie Wenger Luginbuhl, was born in Bluffton, Ohio on Sept. 6, 1909. She grew to womanhood in Bluffton and was baptized in St. John Mennonite Church of Pandora, Ohio, by Rev. W. S. Gottschall. | |||
Mrs. Amstutz attended and graduated from the Flower Hospital School of Nursing, Toledo, Ohio, and received her registered nursing degree in 1900. On Dec. 2, 1931, she was married to Francis H. Amstutz at Wauseon, Ohio. To this union two daughters were born. | |||
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Amstutz lived in Bluffton until 1932, at which time they moved to Wisner, Neb., where they made their home until they moved to Mt. Lake in February 1955. In 1960 she began working for Bethel hospital as a registered nurse, and in 1963 became superintendent of nurses and served in this capacity for about three and one-half years. | |||
Mrs. Amstutz was a dedicated nurse. She passed away on Nov. 19 as she was preparing her medical charts at the close of her afternoon shift. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She attained the age of 60 years, two months and 13 days. | |||
She was a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church of Mt. lake and of the Worship and Sew Society. | |||
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. DuWayne (Anita) Falk, Mt. Lake, and Mrs. Gordon S. (Nancy) Harder, Austin, Minn.; her parents of Bluffton, Ohio; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Milo Lora, Columbus Grove, Ohio. | |||

The funeral was held at the Bethel Church on Nov. 19, with Rev. Ronald Krehbiel and Rev. Donald Kaufman officiating. | |||
