Born marie Schmidt, she was married in 1934 to Kurt Wiens at Goessel. They lived at Inman for three years before moving to Goessel, where they had lived ever since. Her husband survives, along with a son, Stanley of rural Newton; three daughters, Norma (Mrs. Melvin) Hiebert of rural Hillsboro, Verda (Mrs. Henry Harold) Wedel of rural Newton and Lenna (Mrs. Tom) Laswell of Newton; two brothers, Philip D. Schmdit of Goessel and Adolf E. Schmidt of Newton; a sister, Mrs. John F. Banman of Goessel; and 11 grandchildren. | |||
