KEVIN SCOTT SCHMIDT

The Lord has plucked a flower, nay the tiniest bud of our garden, and transplanted it into His own more beautiful garden. It wasn't hard to name this tiny bud, for we saw at once a close resemblance between it and two of the more mature flowers of this garden, so we named it Kevin Scott.

God gave us this precious bud on Jan. 1, 1961 and He came to pluck it on Jan. 3, 1961, after leaving it in our graden [sic] for only two days. This was much too short a time as we see it, but God saw fit to take him despite our faithful watching, pleading and praying.

Little Kevin leaves to mourn his early passing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard J. Schmidt, one brother Rodney and one sister Janell, his paternal grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Schmidt, his maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Mrs. John F. Schmidt and John F. Schmidt, and many sympathetic relatives, friends and neighbors. His maternal grandfather preceded him in death.

We who are let behind, through tear-stained eyes, lift up our voices and say: "The Lord has given, the Lord has taken, the name of the Lord our God be praised." We are confident we will meet our darling in the eternal home.

Funeral services were held at the Alexanderwohl Church near Goessel, Kan. on Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. with Rev. john Thiessen officiating. — The bereaved Willard Schmidt family.
