●  Sister Zipora S. Mmeschberger died Dec. 31 at the age of 86 at the Bethel Home for the Aged.  She was a member of the deaconess sisterhood and of the First Mennonite Church of Newton.  Services were held Jan. 3 at the Sister Frieda Chapel with Albert Epp and Jim Cox officiating.  Surviving are a sister, Ada of the Bethel Home, and a brother, Silas of Sheldon, Mo.  She served in nursing care at Bethel Deaconess Hospital for many years.

Sister Zipora was born Sept. 18, 1893 at El Reno, Okla. to Jacob and Dinah Meschberger, workers in the Indian Mission. She was baptized in 1910 and became a member of the Mennonite church in El Reno. She transferred her membership to the First Mennonite Church in Newton, Kan. in 1925.
