Pioneer Settler Died at Hillsboro
Hillsboro, Kans. — Funeral services for Peter A. Loewen, 87, pioneer settler of the Hillsboro community, were held recently at the Springfield K.M.B. church south of Lehigh. He died here March 4 after a long period of ill health.
Mr. Loewen was born in Russia in 1876. He grew up on a farm northwest of Peabody, and engaged in farming near here until his retirement in 1928. Since then, he and Mrs. Loewen had lived in Hillsboro.
