John A. Litwiller was born Sept. 18, 1891, near Ithaca, Michigan and passed away March 1, 1949, near Atmore, Alabama at the age of 57 years 5 months and 10 days. | |||
In March 1911, he realized the need of a Savior. Confessing his sins and accepting Christ as his Savior, he was added to the Church of God in Christ Mennonite through baptism. | |||
He was united in marriage with Lillie Peters on March 22, 1941, and they established a home near Ithaca, Michigan. On November 30, 1927, they moved on a farm near Harrison, Mich., hoping the change would improve his wife's health. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for nearly 35 years. To this union was born five children. One infant son preceded him in death. | |||
This winter Mr. and Mrs. Litwiller left for Florida and Louisiana with a trailer house to spend the winter with their children. On Feb. 11 he had a stroke, followed by two heart attacks on Feb. 28, and another the following day. Peacefully he passed to his reward Tuesday evening, March 1. | |||
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife; two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Twila) Kauffmann of Harrison, Mich., Dale of Lansing, Mich., Donald of DeRidder, La., and Mrs. Orval (Leona) Peters of Atmore, Ala.; seven grandchildren; his aged parents, J. B. and Lydia Litwiller of Ithaca, and two sisters and five brothers, Frank of Lansing, Alfred, Edward and Earl of Ithaca, Lamont of St. Johns, Mich., Mrs. Benj. (Lillian) Johnson of Middleton, Mich., and Mrs. Herman (Clara) Mininger of Harrison, and many other relatives and friends. | |||
A short service was held at Barton funeral home of Atmore, Alabama, on March 2 conducted by Rev. Francis Peters of McDavid, Florida. | |||
Funeral services were held at the Dodge funeral home of Middleton, Mich. Sunday, March 6, Rev. Harvey Fricke of Defiance, Ohio officiating. The burial was in the Naldrett cemetery. | |||

JOHN ALLEN LITWILLER
John A. Litwiller was born Sept. 18, 1891, near Ithaca, Michigan and passed away March 1, 1949, near Atmore, Alabama at the age of 57 years 5 months and 10 days.
