Elias A. Miller, 79, of La Junta, Colo., son of Noah E. and Sophronia (Hummel) Miller, passed away late Tuesday evening, July 23, 1963 following a fall about nine weeks earlier. | |||
He was born near Millersburg in Holmes County, Ohio, on March 5, 1884. He moved to Colorado from Kansas with his family 37 years ago. Mr. Miller farmed in the Cheraw community for a number of years prior to his retirement. | |||
He was a member of the Mennonite Church and served approximately 27 years as Sunday school superintendent and was on the church board for a number of years. For several years he was on the board of education in Kansas. | |||
He is survived by his wife, Nettie, of the home; Mrs. Susie Neuschwanger of Denver; six sons, Glen R. Miller, Adrian Miller, Lewis Miller, Earl Miller and Eldo Miller of La Junta, and Eugene Miller of Hesson, Kan.; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; six brothers and three sisters. | |||
Funeral services were held Friday morning, July 26, at Peacock-Green Memorial Chapel, La Junta, Rev. Menno Troyer, chaplain at the Mennonite Hospital, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Claude White, pastor of the Nazarene Church. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, La Junta. | |||

ELIAS A. MILLER
Elias A. Miller, 79, of La Junta, Colo., son of Noah E. and Sophronia (Hummel) Miller, passed away late Tuesday evening, July 23, 1963 following a fall about nine weeks earlier.
