John P. Plett, 66, of Steinbach and James Plett, 31, were making a left turn to cross into a driveway when their bike was hit by a north-bound automobile driven by George Boutilier of Winnipeg. Mr. Plett died some 40 minutes later at St. Boniface General Hospital. | |||
James, admitted to the intensive care section at the some hospital, was listed in fair condition. | |||

BIKE-CAR CRASH KILLS CYCLIST
Steinbach, Man. — A ride by a father-and-son team on a bicycle-built-for-two proved fatal for the older man when the bike was hit by a car on Highway 12 Wednesday evening, Apr. 9.
John P. Plett, 66, of Steinbach and James Plett, 31, were making a left turn to cross into a driveway when their bike was hit by a north-bound automobile driven by George Boutilier of Winnipeg. Mr. Plett died some 40 minutes later at St. Boniface General Hospital.
