Former Berne Mayor Called by Death
Berne, Ind. — Andrew Sprunger, 78, who became the first mayor of Berne some years ago after it was made a fifth class city, died unexpectedly on June 13.
He was a native of this community and a member of the First Mennonite Church, where the funeral was conducted on June 16.
Mr. Sprunger was a carpenter and builder for many years, and served as street and water commissioner for 11. years.
