He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania medical school in 1900 and later carried on a practice from his home in Gap, Pa. Traveling the country roads with horse and buggy and carrying oxygen tanks along with him, he used oxygen for distressed patients long before that was a common practice. |

LONG-TIME PHYSICIAN IN LANCASTER COUNTY DIES AT AGE 88
Parkesburg, Pa. — Dr. George B. Hershey, who practiced medicine in eastern Lancaster County for many years, died recently at a Langhorne, Pa. nursing home at the age of 88.
Born at Boyerstown, he was a school teacher before deciding to take up medicine. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania medical school in 1900 and later carried on a practice from his home in Gap, Pa.
