Elizabeth Culp Hartzler was born Jan. 12, 1885 at Elida, Ohio to Christian and Christina Good Culp.  She died May 20, 1981 at Walnut Creek, Ohio at the age of 96.
 
She accepted Christ in her youth and was baptized becoming a member of the Salem-Pike Mennonite Church at Elida.
 
She was married to Phares Brubaker on Apr. 5, 1914.  The Lord blessed this union with four children:  Vera Mae Payne of Concrete, Wash., Wilmer Ray Brubaker of Upland, Calif., Ruth Pauline Miller of Walnut Creek, Ohio and Mark Christian Brubaker of Cucamonga, Calif.
 
Her husband died in 1942.  She was married on Nov. 16, 1944 to Enos F. Hartzler.  Their children are Earl Hartzler of Hephzibah, Ga., Lloyd Hartzler of Dayton, Va. an Paul Hartzler of Burlington, W. Va.  Her second husband died in 1958.
 
At the time of her death she was the oldest member of the Salem Mennonite Church of Wooster, Ohio.  She was very active in the church with WMSC and teaching Sunday school, and was always helping others.  Her cheerfulness and smile were always noticed.
 
Surviving in addition to her children are a sister.  Mrs. Ada Berry of Toledo, Ohio, 26 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.  Two brothers and three sisters died previously.

ELIZABETH HARTZLER
