Retired Farmer, Carpenter Dies at Kalona Home
Kalona, Iowa. — Joel S. Guengerich, 89, retired farmer and carpenter, died Jan. 22 at the Pleasantview Home here. He had been a resident of the home for the past four months.
A native of Johnson County, Iowa, he was married to Magdalena Yoder in 1900, and she died in 1927. His second wife, the former Ella Fisher, survives as do five sons, one daughter, two brothers and a sister.
He was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church , where the funeral services were conducted Jan. 25.
