• Mrs. Mattie Sommerfeld, 85, died June 20 at Hesston. The funeral was conducted Thursday afternoon at the Spring Valley Mennonite Church near Canton, with Rev. James Hershberger and Rev. Peter Wiebe in charge. Mrs. Sommerfeld was the mother of Harold Sommerfeld, editor of the Hesston Record, Clarence and Edna Sommerfeld of Hesston, Raymond of Protection, and Mrs. Elvin (Bertha) Selzer of Canton. Also surviving are two sisters, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. | |||
