— Rev. Jacob Sommer, pioneer city missionary of the Central Conference of Mennonites, passed away last month at New Castle, Pa. after a long illness. After serving at the Home Chapel in Chicago for four years, he and Mrs. Sommer went to Peoria in 1914 to take charge of the new Peoria Mennonite Mission. They labored there for a period of 25 years, until forced to retire because of ill health. | |||
