REV. WILBUR SMOKER
Rev. Wilbur Howard Smoker, 57, of 13053 Warwick Blvd., Providence, Va., died Friday, Apr. 14, in Riverside Hospital after a short illness.
He was pastor of Providence Mennonite Church, Warwick Blvd. and Menchville Road. Ordained in 1955, he had been a Peninsula resident for the past 17 years.
He was employed as a carpenter for Nice Brothers and was instrumental in organizing churches in Pennsylvania, Tennessee and North Carolina.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alta M. Smoker; two daughters, Miss Rhonda R. Smoker and Mrs. Mary Anne Lee, both of Newport News; three sons, Kenneth G.
