<center><h3>Farmer Killed When Train Hits Truck</h3></center>
Meade, Kan. &#8212; Joe W. Friesen, 68-year-old farmer here, was killed Jan. 6 when his pickup truck was hit by a Rock Island freight train at the north edge of Meade.
Friesen apparently stopped too close to the tracks, and was unable to back the ruck because of the icy highway.  the truck was cut in two, with the cab section being carried some distance.

Farmer Killed When Train Hits Truck

Meade, Kan. — Joe W. Friesen, 68-year-old farmer here, was killed Jan. 6 when his pickup truck was hit by a Rock Island freight train at the north edge of Meade.
