• Funeral services for Mrs. Helen E. Schmidt, 67, were held Monday afternoon at the Goessel Mennonite Church. Rev. Henry Goossen, the pastor, officiated. Mrs. Schmidt died May 3 at the Bethesda Hospital in Goessel. She had been a resident of the Cedar Rest Nursing Home at Peabody since 1968. The former Helen E. Schroeder, she was married to Leonard D. Schmidt at Goessel, and he died in 1958. Surviving are three sons, Allen and Norman of Peabody and Vernon of Arvada, Colo.; four daughters, Mrs. Earl Unruh of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Jack Totland of Hutchinson, Mrs. Wilbur Besore and Mrs. J. B. Ensz both of Newton; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters, Jake Schroeder of Silver Spring, Md., Harry, Edward, Margaret and Lydia Schroeder, all of Bellingham, Wash. | |||
