FORMER WAYLAND MAYOR DIES
Waylaid, Iowa. — Funeral services were held at the Eicher Mennonite Church near Noble on March 2 for Samuel Wittmer, 80, lifelong resident of this community.
Mr. Wittmer died at a Springfield, Mo. rest home where he had resided for several months. He was mayor of Wayland in 1962 and 1963, and in earlier years operated a general store at Havre, Ia. His wife, the former Ida Wittrig, died in 1951.
