Winnipeg, Man. — A fall from a catwalk high in the Winnipeg arena to the floor 65 feet before claimed the life of John Wiebe, an electrician, on Nov. 7.
Mr. Wiebe and another workman were attempting to lower a steel beam with a hand crane when he lost his balance and plunged to the floor. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Krahn of Niverville, and four children.
Funeral services were held Nov. 10 at the First Mennonite Church of Winnipeg.
