MARY KREHBIEL

Miss Mary Krehbiel, daughter of the late Peter and Susanna Krehbiel, was born June, 1873, northwest of Donnellson, Iowa. She resided in this vicinity until July, 1952, when she went to Newton, Kansas, where she lived in the Bethel Home for the Aged until the time of her death. She passed away quietly in her sleep Saturday, March 24, at the age of 82 years.

On Sept. 26, 1886, she was baptized by Rev. Christian Showalter, and became a member of the Zion Mennonite church, where she took an active part as long as circumstances permitted, and where she still held her membership at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Valentine, who died in infancy, and Herman, and one sister, Katherine. She is survived by a number of cousins.

Funeral services were held at Newton Monday and the body arrived at Millers' Home for Funerals Tuesday morning where a prayer service for relatives was conducted at 1:30 p. m. by Rev. Ernst Harder of Newton.

Services were held in Zion Mennonite church Tuesday at 2 p. m. with Rev. Harold Thiessen officiating. Misses Mary, Hilda and Lillian Krehbiel and Mrs. Frank Gaylord sang "All the Way My Saviour Leads Me" and "My Hope is Built."

Burial was in the Mennonite cemetery.
