• Funeral services for Jacob C. Dester, 87, were held Saturday forenoon at the Bethel College Church, with Rev. Esko Loewen and Rev. John Esau in charge. Mr. Hester died June 7 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital. A retired farmer, he was born in Munich, Germany and formerly lived in the Perry, Okla. area, coming to Newton in 1926. Survivors include his widow, the former Marie M. Hirschler; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Boldenow of Newton; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
