Mrs. Peter (Nancy) Yoder died Aug. 5, 1963 leaving 178 descendants.  She had seven sons and five daughters, 67 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. 
 
Nancy Yoder was born at Lewistown, Pa. on Sept. 30, 1877.  At six years of age she moved to Bertrand, Neb. with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Yoder.  When she was 16 she came to North Dakota in a covered wagon with her uncle and two sisters.
 
She married Peter A. Yoder on Nov. 7, 1897.  They farmed in the Island Lake Township in Rolette County until they retired in 1945 and moved to Surrey, N. D.  Mr. Yoder died July 14, 1961 after which Mrs. Yoder lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Martin. 
 
Surviving are seven sons, Jerry and Fred of Wolford, N. D., Harvey of Topeka, Ind., Niel [''sic'' Neil] and Otis of Minot, N. D., Richard of Mylo, N. D., and Otis of Ogema, Minn.; and five daughters, Gertrude (Mrs. Fred Rheinheimer) of Shipshewana, Ind., Sylvia (Mrs. Earl Martin) and Mildred (Mrs. Durbin Zook) both of Minot, N. D.; Sadie (Mrs. Lawrence King) of Blountstown, Fla., and Bertha (Mrs. Lawrence Unruh) of Hesston, Kan.   
 
A memorial service was held Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Fairview Mennonite church in Surrey, N. D., with Floyd Kauffman in charge, and a service at the Lakeview Mennonite church near Wolford with Eli
Hoschstetler [''sic'' Hochstetler] and Floyd Kauffman in charge.  Interment was at the Lakeview Mennonite cemetery beside her husband.
