Bishop Bueckert died unexpectedly at his home of a heart ailment. | |||
A native of Russia, he was ordained to the ministry in the Chortitz Colony in 1906, later serving at Arkadak. He came to Canada in 1925, and in 1928 was ordained as elder of the Blumenorter congregation. In 1956 he completed 50 years in the ministry. | |||

REV. JOHN P. BUECKERT ORDAINED IN RUSSIA MIGRATED IN 1925
Altona, Manitoba. — Funeral services were held at the Blumenorter church in the village of Rosenort on May 1 for Bishop John P. Bueckert, 79, long-time elder of the Blumenorter congregation of the Conference of Mennonites in Canada.
Bishop Bueckert died unexpectedly at his home of a heart ailment.
