text of obituary:
RODNEY JAMES CLAASSEN was born Nov. 29, 1936. He enjoyed good health until about a week ago when small sores appeared on his forehead. These developed into what appeared to be a boil which did not drain as it should. Monday his temperature was alarmingly high, and we took him to the hospital where his condition rapidly grew more serious. We still hoped and prayed that he might be spared, but never in our incessant prayer for him did we forget to pray, "not our will but thy will be done.” Finally the infection from this boil spread to the rest of his body, causing his death, Aug. 10, 1938, at the age of 1 year and 9 months. He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, one sister, one brother, and other relatives.
We as a family say with Job, "The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blest be the name of the Lord.”
