Goshen, Ind. — Mrs. Katie (Gingerich) Bender, a member of the Amish church, died on Dec. 20 just two weeks before her 100th birthday.
Born in Johnson County, Iowa on Jan. 3, 1872, she was a lifelong resident of this community. Death came at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Uriah Bontrager, where the funeral was held on Dec. 23.
Mrs. Bender was the widow of Noah Bender. She leaves two daughters, two sons, 37 grandchildren and 113 great-grandchildren.
