Maria Redekop of St. Catharines,
Ont. passed away in early July. She was born
August 29,1904 in Olgafeld, Russia to Jacob
and Helena Wiebe Niebuhr. In her youth she
accepted the Lord as her personal Saviour
and was baptized into the Mennonite
Brethren church by Jacob Knelson. On
March 3, 1924 she married Isaac Redekop,
who was taken away from her in 1943 and
never heard from again. She and her two
children came to Canada in 1948. Virgil (Ont.)
became her home until 1977 when she came
to Tabor Manor in St. Catharines, remaining
a member of the Virgil church. She leaves
daughter Frieda Klassen and son Ernst, six
grandchildren, four great grandchildren and
three sisters. The funeral was held July 5 in
the Virgil MB Church with David
Nightingale officiating.

MARIA REDEKOP

Maria Redekop of St. Catharines, Ont. passed away in early July. She was born August 29,1904 in Olgafeld, Russia to Jacob and Helena Wiebe Niebuhr.
