DAVID GOERTZ
David Goertz died peacefully Mar. 8 at age 90. He was born July 16, 1916 in Kamenetz, Russia to Peter and Maria Goertz. In 1924, the family immigrated to Canada, settling in Crowfoot, Alta., and later Lindbrook, Alta. Dave married Susie Martens Mar. 25, 1940 and for 6 years worked on the Jones Ranch in Bassano, Alta. In 1946 they moved to Coaldale, where Dave worked as a farmer, welder, and meatpacking plant maintenance worker, using his skills as an inventor to design and build labour-saving machinery. In 1989, Dave and Susie moved to Claresholm, lta. On confession of his faith, Dave was baptized as a teenager and joined the MB Church. He served in Coaldale MB Church, Lakeview MB Church, and Claresholm Faith Community Baptist Church.
