John Stobbe died May 29. He was born Feb. 3, 1919 to John and Su - zanna Stobbe in Wald- heim, Russia. The fam- ily immigrated to Can- ada when John was 6, settling in Schanzen- feld, Man. On May 12, 1940 he was baptized upon his confession of faith and joined the Bergthaler Church. He was registered as a conscientious objector and sent to Clear Lake, Man. to build roads.
