ELIZABETH FEDRAU

Elizabeth Fedrau died Jan. 12 at age 105. She was born Jan. 6, 1901 in Krassikov, Russia to Gerhard and Justina Fast. Her father died when Elizabeth was 5. She married Wilhelm Fedrau in 1921. Elizabeth was baptized in 1924 and joined the MB church in Lugowsk, Russia. The family immigrated to Canada in 1926, farming in southern Manitoba and joining the Griswold MB Church. Elizabeth found ways to help and improve the farm by milking, feeding poultry, and raising sheep. In 1947, the family moved to Sardis, B.C. and bought a dairy farm. Elizabeth enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, writing poetry, taking long car trips, and playing the electric organ. She sang In the King Road MB Church choir and served as a custodian there.
