. . .
On Dec. 23 we laid my only sister, Anna, to rest. She finished her earthly pilgrimage on Dec. 19. She suffered a severe heart attack on Dec. 8 and was taken to the Freeman Hospital. On Dec. 14 she was transferred to Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls. Other complications arose, and amputation of her right leg was scheduled on Dec. 26, but the Heavenly Father called her to himself beforehand. Before becoming ill she had written in a Christmas letter to a cousin, "Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all could spend Christmas in heaven?" She did. And we who have been left behind are to "Occupy till He comes," either through our death or His return. May God help us to be faithful! — Adelina B. Ortmann.
