Anna P. Neufeld was born on June 23, 1892, to Heinrich P. and Helena Pauls Neufeld on a farm west of Inman, Kan. She was the oldest of seven children. | |||
Her father died when she was ten years old, making it necessary for her to stay home from school to help her mother care for the children. Several years later it was possible for her to attend Hesston Academy at Hesston, Kan. for about two years. She also had some nurse aid training at Bethel Hospital, Newton. For many years she served as a nurse aid at various hospitals and homes. | |||
She realized her need for a Saviour and accepted Christ as Saviour and Lord. She was baptized on July 10, 1910, by Elder Heinrich Toews and became a member of the Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman. She remained a faithful member until her death. In her quiet way she served the Lord through prayerful and financial support of the church. In later years she joyfully entered into the activities and projects of the Charity Society of the church. | |||
She and her sister, Agnes, took care of their mother until her passing in 1958. They then lived in their mother’s house in Inman. After Agnes married, Anna lived by herself. She had the house remodeled and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. She also gave herself to meeting the needs of her brother, Jake, until his passing in 1966. | |||
Anna enjoyed good health until June 6, 1971, when she had severe fainting spells. She was hospitalized several times after that. On Nov. 6, 1972 she had a severe attack of pain in her neck and head. She entered Mercy Hospital at Moundridge, Kansas, on Nov. 7. She was looking forward to returning home on Nov. 10, but that morning suffered a stroke. She was in this condition for two weeks. She passed away peacefully on Nov. 24 at the age of 80 years. | |||

Surviving her are two brothers, Henry and wife Justina and John and wife Sara; one sister, Helen and husband, Ed F. Regier, all of Inman, Kansas; a brother-in-law, A. E. Kroeker, nine nieces and nephews. | |||
