COLUMBIANA, OHIO
July 26, 1971
. . .
The next day, Sunday, July 25, brought sad news to the Witmer family. A telephone call from Sarasota informed them that Mrs. Lulu Witmer had died. Her body was found in bed by neighbors. Four of her children left by plane for Florida to take care of arrangements. They were Vernon Witmer, Warren Witmer, Mrs. Anna Mary Weaver and Mrs. Arlene Weaver. Short services are being held in Sarasota this evening, after which the body will be flown back here. Funeral services will be held at the Midway Church on Thursday evening, July 29, with burial in the adjoining cemetery beside her husband. Besides the above named children, survivors include, a daughter Martha, (Mrs. John Backer) of Wolford, N.D.; a son David of this area, and a son John of Washington, D.C., who is at present touring South America.
