HANZ SAPINSKY

Hans Sapinsky passed away Nov. 20 in Her- bert, Sask. He was born Apr. 16, 1920, near Shamrock, Sask. to John and Eva Sapinsky. The family moved to McMahon, Sask. He en- joyed school, particular- ly teachers George Thiessen and Paul Wiebe. He attended Herbert (Sask.) Bible School 1934- 35, where he sang in the choir and a quartet. He accepted Christ during this time and was baptized, joining Rheinfeld MB Church . He worked on the family farm, then on Lane Anderson farm in Wymark, Sask. Here he was considered a trusted friend. He spent the winters of the war years working in ship- yards in Vancouver and Thunder Bay, Ont. In 1942 he returned to Bible school. He married Ruth Redekop Apr. 4, 1945. He worked for Re- dekop Farrn Equipment Co . In 1959-60 he ap- prenticed as an electrician in Regina. He en- joyed working as an electrical contractor to- gether with his sons and other young men. Music and singing were a great joy to him. Hans and Ruth loved travelling; he communi- cated much while playing games with children and grandchildren. Predeceased by 5 brothers and daughter Julia, he is mourned by Ruth; sons Rich and Gerry; 7 grandchildren; 1 great- grandson; the adopted Kent Martens family; 4 sisters and 3 half-brothers. The funeral was Nov. 25 in Herbert MB Church with Henry Dueck ministering.
