— Family members at North Newton received word Sunday that Richard H. Schenkel, 57, of Albuquerque, N. M. had been killed in a one-car auto accident early that morning. He was married to Mildred Voth, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. J. Voth, North Newton, and for the past 20 years had taught in the Albuquerque public schools. Mrs. Schenkel also teaches there. Mr. Schenkel was a native of Bazine, Kan. and a member of the United Methodist Church. Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Barbara, of the home, and a sister, Mrs. Victor Dewald of Bazine. The body was sent here, and final services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Bethel College Church, with Rev. Esko Loewen officiating. | |||
