• Four brothers died within a few days of each other last week in central Kansas. Three of the brothers — Rev. Fred Johnson, 67, of Colorado Springs, Nelson Johnson, 64, of Dodge City, and Allen Johnson, 71, of Canon City, Colo. — were killed Friday morning in a highway crash while en route here to the funeral of Harry L. Johnson, 75, at the First Baptist Church. The latter, well-known realtor here for many years, had died Oct. 5 at the VA Hospital in Wichita after a long illness. The tragic head-on crash took place on fog-shrouded US-50 west of Hutchinson about 9 a.m. Wives of the three men were critically hurt. Allen Johnson, a retired Santa Fe engineer, was a former resident here, and the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Newton First Methodist Church.
