He and Anna Franz were united in marriage on o=Oct. 30, 1905, by his brother, Dietrich Bartel.  To this union were born three daughters and two sons.  Mrs. Bartel died in March 1954.  They shared life together for over 48 years.  He died on Feb. 20, 1967, at the age of 81 years.

He is survived by the three daughters:  Minnie, Mrs. Curt Janzen, Lilly, Mrs. Alvin Pauls, and Linda, Mrs. Herb Janzen, and two sons, Allen and Earl, and their companions; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

• Funeral services for David B. Bartel, 81, retired farmer of the Buhler community, were held Feb. 23 at the Buhler Mennonite Church with Rev. Harold Thiezen [sic Thieszen] officiating. He died Feb. 20 at the Pleasant View Home, Inman, where he resided. Five children and their families survive.
