HELEN VOTH

Helen Voth of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away Nov. 4. She was born July 10, 1910 to Jakob and Anna Rempel of Alexandrovka, southern Russia. In 1923 they immigrated to Saskatchewan. In 1925 they moved to southern Manitoba. At 14 she accepted Christ during revival services. She was baptized and joined Winkler (Man.) MB Church, June 13, 1926. She attended Winkler Bible school for a year and learned to love the Bible. In spring, 1934 she married John Herman Voth. They lived with his parents in Manitou, Man., then in Kalieda, Man. and La Riviere, Man. In 1946 they moved to B.C., settling in Greendale. In 1948 her lovely garden and the raspberries were flooded, but she took courage from God's Word. In 1956 they moved to Chilliwack, B.C., living in a succession of homes because John was a builder. In 1962 they moved to Richmond, B.C. John died in 1979. In 1980 she moved to Clearbrook, B.C. She took great delight in caring for her grandchildren, feeding them perogies, noodles and Christmas candy. She is remembered as a praying, loving, sensitive person who eagerly awaited the return of her Lord. Predeceased by her husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 2 grandchildren, she is mourned by her sons Ernest of Three Hills, Alta. and John of Abbotsford; daughters Ruth Hooge of North Vancouver, MaryAnn Klassen and Betty Neetz of Chilliwack and Viola Regier of Delano, CA; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral was Nov. 7 in Clearbrook MB Church, with John E. Klassen and Delbert Regier ministering.
