AGATHA PAETKAU

Agatha Paetkau of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away May 6. She was born Dec. 19, 1923 to Abram and Agatha Paetkau in Waldheim, Sask. She accepted Christ and joined Glenbush (Sask.) MB Church. She graduated from Hepburn (Sask.) Bible school and enjoyed serving her Lord in teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. In 1948 the family moved to Elm Creek, Man. She continued her studies and taught in public schools for many years. In 1979 she moved to Clearbrook, B.C. and joined Central Heights MB Church, where she established friendships. The last 7 years she faithfully cared for her mother, who had had a stroke. Cancer was discovered in December, 1990, but she was uncomplaining and grateful for her care. She is remembered for her trust in God and love for those close to her. Predeceased by her father and her sister in infancy, she is remembered by her mother; brothers Albert of Elm Creek, Abe of Clearbrook and Harold of Winnipeg; and sisters Elsie Froese of Clearbrook and Amanda of Abbotsford. The funeral was May 10 in Central Heights MB Church, with Al McVety and Menno Friesen ministering.
