MRS. ANNA BERGMAN

(Mrs.) Ann Bergman of Sardis, B.C. passed away on August 12. She was born January 26, 1905 to Jacob and Maria Friesen in Alexandertal, Russia. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour at an early age and was later baptized and joined the Mennonite Brethren church. When she was 20, her family came to Canada, settling first in Rosthern, Sask., and them moving to Alexander, Man. There she married Paul Bergman on July 7, 1928. In 1930 they moved to Agassiz, B.C. and fellowshipped with a small congregation under C.C. Peters. After eight years they moved to Sumas Prairie and then to near Yarrow, where they lived for 28 years. They retired to Sardis. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on July 9, 1978.

She is greatly missed by her husband Paul; four sons: Jack of Campbell River, Ernie of New Hazelton, Arnold of Quesnel and Don of Langley (all of B.C.); seven daughters: Mary (Mrs. A. Friesen) of Surrey, Kay (Mrs. W. Stobbe) of Vancouver, Anne (Mrs. W. Dahl) of Grand Forks, Susan (Mrs. P. Niessen) of Burnaby, Lynne (Mrs. B. Cummins) of Surrey, Elsie (Mrs. J. Giesbrecht) of Yarrow (all of B.C.) and Esther (Mrs. B. White) of Calgary; 34 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two brothers.
