MRS. TENA SIEMENS
(Mrs.) Tena Siemens of Hepburn, Sask., passed away on August 7. She was born to Jacob and Catherina Rempel on June 14, 1900 in southern Russia. Her family emigrated to Canada in 1902, settling on a homestead at Great Deer, Sask. As a result of strong Christian teaching in her home, she accepted Christ as Saviour in 1915 and in 1918 was baptized and received into the membership of the Borden (Sask.) Mennonite Brethren Church. With the death of her father in 1924, she took on added responsibilities in the home and farm. On October 1, 1933, she was married to Philip Siemens of Hepburn, and the union was blessed with two daughters.
Her family remembers her generous hospitality, kindness and active prayer life. She is mourned by her husband Philip; two daughters: Phyllis of LaRonge, Sask., and Margaret Mehler and husband Morley of Crooked Rivers, Sask.; six sisters: Helen Fehr of Clearbrook, B.C., Susan Hinde of Victoria, Betty Siemens of Kelowna, B.C., Mary Bieber of Wilkie, Sask., and Olga McLean and Laura Bethel of Saskatoon; and three brothers: Jack Rempel of Abbotsford, B.C., George of Brooks, Alta., and Abram of Borden. Funeral services were held in the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church, with John E. Klassen officiating.
