SUSANNA GIESBRECHT
Susanna Giesbrecht of Winnipeg passed away Sept. 19. She was born Aug. 12, 1900 to Gerhard and Anna Redekop in Schoneberg, Russia, fifth in a family of 13. After 6 years, they moved to Kronstal. In June, 1913 they immigrated to Canada, settling in Kelstern, Sask. She accepted Jesus in the winter of 1924-25 during deeper life services conducted in Kelstern by C.N. Hiebert. She was baptized Aug. 23, 1925 by Sam Hodel and joined Elim MB Church in Kelstern. She married Jacob Giesbrecht Dec. 8, 1941 in Kelstern. They moved to Brandon, Man., then Alexander, Man. In 1951 they moved to Winnipeg, where they joined North Kildonan MB Church. Jacob died July 6, 1962. She moved to an apartment several years later, then to Donwood Manor. She is survived by her sister Tina Derksen of Herbert, Sask. and many cousins, nephews and nieces. The funeral was Sept. 21 in North Kildonan MB Church, with John Epp ministering.
