JOHN PETER UNGER

John Peter Unger of Dalmeny, Sask. joined his Maker on August 12 at the age of 81. He was born to Margaret and Peter Unger on April 11, 1897 in Friedensfeld, southern Russia. At the age of twelve he accepted Christ as his Saviour while attending a Sunday school class. He emigrated to Langham, Sask. in 1923. Later he settled in Provost, Alta. where he supported his sister and her three children for five years. On March 17, 1929 he married Mary Lepp of Dalmeny, and in 1936 they moved to a farm at Dalmeny. The family remembers him as a man of prayer who studied his Bible daily, and in greater depth in his later years. He found satisfaction in teaching God's Word in Sunday school classes and in witnessing wherever God used him.

His devotion as a husband and father leaves many happy and cherished memories to his wife Mary; to his three daughters: Miriam (Mrs. Ernest) Schmidt, Hepburn, Annette (Mrs. Jack) Gross, Seattle, Irene (Mrs. Bernie) Klassen, Saskatoon; to his three sons: Walter and Marina, Ottawa, Robert and Brenda, Winnipeg, Don and Marion, Victoria; to three brothers and five sisters, and to 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
