Mary Neufeld
Mary Neufeld of Niverville, Man. passed away Mar. 11. She was born Aug. 15, 1915 to Jacob and Elizabeth Peters in Waldheim, southern Russia. The family immigrated to Canada in September, 1925. After several years, they settled on a farm near Niverville. She married Peter A. Neufeld June 17, 1934. She was baptized the same year and accepted into Niverville MB Church. She enjoyed the ladies fellowship and Bible study. A quiet woman, she gave away Bibles as a testimony to those who visited. She read widely and shared what she read. She devoted her life to her family, always taking time for her children and grandchildren, praying for them and encouraging them. She demonstrated courage and faith through many difficult days. She is thought of as one who has finished the race and kept the faith (II Tim. 4:7-8). She is mourned by her husband; daughters Eleanor Hamm of Steinbach, Man. and Marlene Warkentin and Beverley Dyck, both of Winnipeg; sons Wilmer of Winnipeg, Harvey of Niverville, Ernie and Jack, both of St. Adolphe, Man., and Robert of Winnipeg; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 3 brothers. The funeral was Mar. 14 in Niverville MB Church, with Henry Regier and Peter Doerksen ministering.
