MRS. SARAH PENNER

(Mrs.) Sarah Penner was born to Jacob and Maria Fischer on January 6, 1893 in Kansas. The family moved to Laird, Sask., where she spent her youth. On July 3, 1914 she married Charlie Penner; they moved to a farm in the Hepburn, Sask., district and also homesteaded north of Meadow Lake, Sask. She accepted Jesus as her Saviour, was baptized and joined the Hepburn Mennonite Brethren Church in 1915. She prayed for her family daily and served her Lord faithfully throughout her life.

In 1950 the Penners moved into Hepburn. Twelve years later her husband died, and Mrs. Penner moved to a small house on the yard of her daughter Bessie (Mrs. Albert Brucks). She moved with her daughter to Waldheim in 1973 and then spent a year at the Langham Holiday Home. In 1976, in order to be closer to her son Wilfred, she moved into the Westview Pioneer Lodge in Waldheim, where she enjoyed her stay. Although considered to be in good health, Mrs. Penner suffered from slight attacks which left her weak and tired. Quite suddenly she passed away into the Lord's presence on February 15.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie; a son, Louis; her son-in-law, Albert Brucks, her daughter Bessie, one grandchild, her parents and 14 brothers and sisters. Left to mourn are a son, Wilfred; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister; three brothers; and many friends.
