Helena Epp of Winnipeg passed away Dec. 26. She was born Feb. 18, 1904 to Abram and Anna Dyck in Kronsberg, southern Russia. At 7, she accepted Christ; at 13 she was baptized in the Petrovka River and joined the MB church. In 1926 the family immigrated to Newton, Man. In 1928 she married Henry N. Epp. They lived in Brandon, Man. and Newton. They settled near Wingham, Man., where they farmed until Henry died in 1959. She lived in Oakville, Man. for 16 years and then retired to Winnipeg. She is remembered as a woman of strength and dignity. Her main interests were church, her children, her grandchildren and flowers. She loved God's Word and had great faith and an exemplary prayer life. She is mourned by her children Anne Friesen, Rita Klassen, Helen Friesen, Mitzie Quapp, Henry and Abe. The funeral was Dec. 30 in Newton Community Fellowship Church, with Art Willms and D.A. Dyck ministering.

They farmed in the Wingham district until his passing in 1959. In 1960 she moved to Oakville, Man. In 1972 she retired t.o Winnipeg. She was a faithful member of her church wherever she resided, first at Newton and later at Portage Ave. MB Church and North Kildonan MB Church in Winnipeg. Her interests included growing flowers, knitting, crocheting, quilting and sewing. She is remembered for her care , concern and constant prayers for her family. Predeceased by her husband and several brothers and sisters, she is mourned by her sons Henry of Portage la Prairie, Man. and Abe of Headingley, Man.; daughters Anne Friesen of Oakville, Rita Klassen of Newton, Helen Friesen of Abbotsford, B.C. and and Mary (Mitzie) Quapp of Grande Prairie, Alta.; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandehildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister. The funeral was Dec. 30 in Newton Community Fellowship Church, with Art Willms and David Dyck ministering.
